Masterful Woodcarvings, Crafted with Precision and love

Hello everyone and welcome to my Website!

I’m Christiana, a self-taught woodcarver, and my journey began in 2020—a time when the world slowed down, giving me the space to explore my creativity. While I don’t consider myself an artist, I see myself as a creator. Woodcarving has become my way of expressing ideas, telling stories, and bringing joy into the world. Without formal training, I’ve relied on patience, trial and error, and a deep curiosity to guide me. Each carving is a lesson, a step forward in honing my craft. Being self-taught means every piece is a chance to discover, grow, and carve my own path.

Self-tAUGHT

I’m a self-taught woodcarver, and my belief is simple: if I can do it, anyone can. Woodcarving has taught me that with patience and practice, improvement comes naturally. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about embracing the process, learning from each piece, and growing along the way.

Under my brand, The Cypriot Carver, I work primarily with linden wood (known as flamouri in Greek), carefully choosing each piece for its unique qualities. The process starts with a rough cut to shape the wood, and then I carve slowly and carefully, paying attention to every detail. After the carving is complete, I apply a thin layer of acrylic paint to bring depth and color, finishing with a protective varnish.

Hand made

I love creating pieces that bring a smile or a laugh. My carvings often reflect humorous scenes from everyday life, given a fun, mythical twist. Sometimes, I let my imagination take over and create mythical creatures, each one telling its own story. The joy and emotional connection that my work brings to others—whether it’s laughter, wonder, or simple enjoyment—are what inspire me most.

Through The Cypriot Carver, I hope to encourage others to take up the craft and explore their own creativity. Woodcarving is a journey of constant learning, and I truly believe that with practice, anyone can unlock their own potential and create something beautiful.

My sculptures may be more contemporary than the wood carvings of old but they reference the same elements and, hopefully, bring the same joy to customers. And of course, I like to use the same wood: flamouri
